The Hazardous Waste Section (DEQ-HW) strives to enhance and protect human health and the environment by the safe management of hazardous wastes and substances. The DEQ-HW implements Arkansas’ Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Subtitle C waste management program and administers the State's hazardous waste program under the authority of the Arkansas Hazardous Waste Management Act (Ark. Code, Ann Sects. 8-7-202 et seq.). This program governs the management and disposition of hazardous wastes, universal wastes, and used oils.
The State’s hazardous waste program is designed to protect the public health and safety and the environment and to ensure the proper, adequate, and sound management of hazardous wastes. Additionally, the program affords the people of the State a voice in the management of hazardous wastes.
State and federal hazardous waste management regulations and requirements are merged into a single reference document, Arkansas Pollution Control and Ecology Commission (APC&EC) Rule 23.
The DEQ-HW's ePortal Program allows RCRA-Permitted facilities to electronically submit documents, and to track the progress of DEQ-HW’s review of these submitted items. The possible documents that can be submitted electronically include RCRA Permit Applications, RCRA Permit Modifications, and various reports.
Please note, the Part A Permit Application link below is for the EPA Form that includes the EPA Site ID Form which is superseded by the State Site ID form which should be submitted in place of the EPA Site ID Form.
